Brian Henderson (Yoga Illumined 2012)
Brian came to yoga in his late teens, as a way to channel his energy and explore the body’s limits. It immediately called to him as something very sacred, yet very real and exciting. He kept up his practice during the following ten years of a competitive collegiate and professional baseball career. Brian loves how yoga promotes a space of peace and calm, even when the outside whirlwind is all around. One of his favorite teachers used a phrase: “Let your day be the yoga.” He credits his teachers Tolo Perry, Osho, Iyengar, and Sumukhi for shaping his style and philosophy. Expect a calm, peaceful, yet challenging and focused hatha and/or vinyasa flow. Currently, Brian teaches at Your Yoga on Fridays at noon and Total Wellness Austin every other Saturday at 10:30. He is also available for private classes and sessions. You can contact him at email@example.com.

Terra Volz (Yoga Illumined 2011)
Terra is yoga instructor, bodyworker, ocean dweller and sun saluter who began living a life in Yoga by surfing the ocean. Early in her life, her parents expressed the idea of finding spirituality, a connection with her soul, in nature. Surfing, for her, is an expression and form of Yoga as it keeps her in the present moment, listening to the sound of the breath, allowing the soul to shine and guide her into an experience of harmony of the mind, body and spirit. The healing art of Yoga, as well as massage and bodywork are foundations and expressions of art in Terra’s life and teaching. For her continued Yoga studies, she deeply honors the teachings of Ram Dass and Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati (Ramamurti S. Mishra, M.D.). Through the Yoga Illumined series, classes, and kirtan with Kristina Lanuza (Sumukhi), she continues to open her heart with more music and yoga. “We sing the song of Yoga and we keep singing and practicing. I enjoy teaching Hatha Yoga, dancing with Vinyasa Flow, and endlessly expressing the gifts of a meditation practice. Return and retreat to a place that is quiet and full of love. That place is within you,” Namaste. ~Terra. For more information on Terra’s offerings in South Padre Island, Texas and throughout the world, e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shelli Lopes-Barnes (Yoga Illumined 2011)
Shelli began her journey into bodywork at the Clare Maxwell Hudson School of Massage in London in 1993. She had previously studied holistic health and anatomy and physiology as a part of bachelors degree at San Francisco State University. One of her earliest and most profound experiences in massage was volunteering at the London Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital. She continues her journey studying many different massage modalities and Yoga, a practice for self – harmonizing the mind, body and spirit.
Shelli is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. As a life student of Yoga. My offerings have been inspired by my diverse and wonderful teachers including Kristina Lanuza (Sumukhi), Zoe Mantarakisand Bekir Alganas well as the Yoga Sutras.
